We LOVE missionaries!

Hi Landon and Mason!

On Tuesday we welcomed Cameron home from his mission.  Kind of a funny/sad story, Chris thought Cameron would be on a Delta flight cause the church uses them mostly.  So they arrived super early to terminal one (Delta's own terminal) waited at the bottom of the escalators and we came about 30 minutes before he was supposed to land.  About the time we thought his plane was landing,  Melissa got a phone call from Cameron asking where they were.  She said at the bottom of the escalators.  So he said ok see you soon.  Well he had flown American and landed in terminal one along with a dozen missionaries from the Mesa mission.  When he came out of the secure area his family wasn't there.  A man noticed him and offered for him to use his phone.  That's when he called Melissa.  As we were watching the escalators.  He came in from the outside door and we were all surprised.  He was a good sport though and didn't seem to mind.

That day he was pretty shocked.  I think a lot to take in.  New brother in law, new dog, etc.  We could tell he was exhausted so we only stayed till he was released and then we were on our way.

Sunday was his homecoming.  He did a great job speaking and after we enjoyed a little luncheon at the Findlays.  Cameron was a lot more relaxed and had settled into being home more.  He even told me that first day was a lot!

Two years!  A fun little side by side I made.

Gracie made a friend at the luncheon.  This is Miles (Jeremy's littlest)  He is 5 and starting kindergarten this week.  They were cute together.  Gracie is super social and loves anyone close to her size.

Before we headed up to Ogden, we also got to go to Sister Hunter's homecoming.  It was so fun to meet her especially after seeing several pictures of her over the last two years.  (for Landon's info; She served with Mason in two different districts, Germany and Austria).  She gave a wonderful talk!

I also got to meet Elder Buss's mom (Mason's companion).  It was fun to visit with her.  She is a very kind and fun lady.
Dad had a good birthday!  For his birthday there was a Stake Youth activity that night so we took him to lunch.  The next night we went and saw Newsies at the Hale.  Sure love Dad and all he does for our family!

Other then that the garden is exploding.  Here is about the first 10% of the peaches from our trees so far.  Gardening is a lot of work but I enjoy growing fresh fruits and veggies.

One thing that amazes me is how gardening starts out so small and gets so much bigger.  Especially the corn.  I can't help think all the gospel lessons of planting seeds and sowing and reaping what we plant while we care for them.  Earlier this spring we thought we might not even get any corn this summer.  The first batched we planted only a few stalks came up.  It looked very bare, so I planted another set (even bought the best seeds from a nursery), and to our disappointment none of them came up.  We were starting to get very discouraged with our corn and thought it's not worth our time and effort.  We even thought we are no good at this gardening business.   Dad decided to give it one more try, but it was hard to find corn seeds anymore cause the stores were sold out.  Luckily Walmart had some left so we threw them in the ground and watered a little more than we had with the first two sets and in no time we had lots of corn coming up.  We love watching the corn grow, and it's amazing that a tall stalk with 1-2 ears of corn comes from a very tiny seed.  It reminds me of lots of life lessons and I think that is one reason I love to garden!  Plus now I have lots of yummy corn frozen for the winter.

I love how both of you have grown like these corn stalks this last year!  And your sweetness has touched our family and I know many others.

Love you so much!
