What's new, what's the same?

Hi Landon and Mason!

How are you guys?  How was your week?  What's new?

I realized I didn't take very many pictures this week.  But here are a few things that are new at home? And what's the same......

NEW!!!!

#1  Gracie was really excited at dance class the other day to try on her new dance costume in preparation for her upcoming recital.  She is so excited cause it's PINK!  Her favorite color!

#2  Camille McInelly was in town with her daughter Emma to pick up her daughter Linsey from BYU.  They stayed at our house and it was fun to catch up.  Linsey had a blast her first year at BYU and it made me excited for your first year next year.

Tammy Summers was also in town dropping off Ben.  Ben is starting spring semester which starts tomorrow.  We all met up at the Creamery for an hour and it was great to catch up.  Ben is doing well and excited to be back at the Y!

#3 . All last week we watched Brother Rober and his Youtube brother Mark build a jello pool in our back yard.  You can't see the pool from the kitchen window where I shoot this picture but you can see all the barrels that they used to heat up the jello before filling it into the pool.  It took all week and then on Saturday a few people jumped in it.  Jacob and Dad went over to get a peak and Jacob was invited to jump in.  I think Dad is sending you the video.  The polished video should be out shortly on Youtube.  It will be fun to see it all come together after watching it all week.

(oh and notice our trees that Dad moved last fall!  They are alive!!!  It's a miracle!)

#4  Jacob gave his first talk in sacrament meeting.  He did a great job!  He wrote the talk by himself and it was really good.  He was nervous but got up there with confidence and did well at looking at the audience a lot while he spoke.  On top of his talk that day he also gave 1/2 the Deacon's lesson.  He was a busy guy leading up to (well mainly Saturday) Sunday!

#5 I am a substitute teacher!  Yep I have a job!  It's not a lot just when I want to sub and what works with Gracie and Dad.  Recently I have felt like I needed to renew my teaching certificate and subbing helps renew it, so I decided it was a good way to get my feet wet and see if I still like teaching.  I had my first sub job on Friday and I taught a 4th grade class in Springville.  It went well.  I will probably only sub 1-2 days a week and since the school year is almost over it's only a few weeks until the fall. It's kind of fun cause I can pick and choose where and who I want to sub for.  The other day Mr. Miller for Physics at MMHS popped up.  I thought about if for a split second and decided to take a 3rd grade job instead.  But I might end up at MMHS one of these days.  Jacob just doesn't want me to sub his 6th grade class, he said I wouldn't like it;)

#6 Jacob ran the mile at his 6th grade track meet.  The mile is only offered to the 6th graders and Jacob was one of the brave ones to go for it.  He practiced for a little over a week before and he did well.  He got 9th out of about 20 boys running.  He did his best and now he looks forward to running cross country next year at Mapleton Jr. High!

#7 Brett and Kaitlyn graduated from BYU!!!  Lydia and I were able to go to dinner with them to celebrate Thursday night (Dad had a PPI) . They are excited to be done with school for a little bit (until Brett goes to the U in the fall).  They move down to AZ on the 15th of May!

SAME!

#1 Still working a lot in the yard, but it's coming together nicely and the weather hasn't been too bad to work out in.  Dad spends most of his free time out there.  He's such a hard worker!!

#2   Lydia is still on her scooter.  We go to the Doctor this week to see if she can gradually get off it.  She is a good sport though.  It's not too fun!

#3  We continue to pray and think about you always!  We feel the blessings of your service and are so very proud of you!!

LOVE YOU!
