Pressing forward!

Hi Landon and Mason!

Well, it was pretty awesome to get to talk to you last week and it's awesome that we can talk to you tomorrow if it permits with your schedule.  It is so awesome that we can talk more often, I think it is wonderful!   How has the feeling been about the change amongst the missionaries in your mission?
Here are some screen shots I took last week while we were talking!

Here are some highlights from this past week!

Lydia and Lizzy singing in the Solo Ensemble audition.  They sang "Homeward Bound".  They sounded great and Lydia found out today that they move on to regions which is on Wednesday at BYU.   That same night Lydia leaves on choir tour to California.  She is excited!

Jacob's Parks and Rec league had their last game during the mid week.

Gracie goes to many things for everyone.  On Thursday afternoons she goes to dance still.  She loves it and is always excited to show us her new dance moves when she gets home.

Jacob made it to the finals in his school spelling bee.  He was one of the top 3 from his class and then he competed against 24 other 5th and 6th graders.  The spelling list at this level is pretty hard.  He spent some time preparing but was still very nervous on Friday before the assemble in front of the school.  He's nerves didn't stop him though and he got 4th place!!!
 All the finalists!
Jacob also went on a deacon campout.  It as a cold week here at home.  Many of the deacons dropped out last minute but these 7 were brave and ended up having a blast.  They slept in tents while it snowed outside.  Jacob said because they had 4 boys in a smaller tent it was plenty warm and he slept great. Just stayed up too late talking.
A picture of their campfire!  Brrrr
Saturday night after he got home from the campout.  Jacob had his last Bantom basketball game.  It was a close game the whole time.  Jacob has improved so much this season and has become a very valuable player on the team.  He made 6 points, got many rebounds and a few steals.  Sadly they lost in overtime and I think the emotion of loosing and being exhausted from the campout the night before Jacob could not hold back his sad emotions and shed a few tears.  He's never cried after a game, and later when I talked to him he said it was not only that they lost but that the season was over.  He has grown to love the game of basketball.
