20 years!!!
Hey Landon and Mason!
Hope you week has been good. I don't have a lot of pictures this week. But here are a few...
Gracie was invited to her first real friend birthday party. To say she was excited is an under statement. When she got the invitation she wanted to take it every where with her. She even wanted to take it to preschool which I would not let her do. It was a princess tea party. She was excited to dress up and get her friend Hadley a gift. We had to talk a lot about giving a friend a present and how it feels good to give and not think that you can play with it at the party (she really liked the present she was giving her friend). It was a little confusing for her at first but by the party she was ready and the mom over the party told me that she had the best manners and was so polite.
Her friend Hadley is in the middle dressed up as Sleeping Beauty. She is a friend that is in Sunbeams with her. Their family lives where the Sumsions use to live. Hadley is a cute girl and they like each other.
The funny thing about the Gracie going to the party is we were all at home while she was gone. Something that never happens. She is gone while we are all home. Below are two pictures of Jacob after going with the Deacons to do baptisms. Between the temple being busy and them going for ice cream after it was a very late night. It was so late that I had started to get worried. This night also felt strange as it was the first time we were waiting up for Jacob. But when he got home he was excited to tell us all about going to the temple and getting ice cream. He really likes going to the temple.
Here's a funny story....
Yesterday on Sunday I made Chocolate Pie (the Cooks came over for dinner). We had leftovers on Monday. Gracie begged me for a piece of pie, so I gave her a small piece. It was later in the day and I had just gotten back from an afternoon run and I had mentioned while she was eating that I needed to get into the shower. A few minutes later after Gracie finished her piece of pie and I put her plate in the sink and pushed the pie onto another counter. Gracie started to encourage me to go take a shower. I started to catch on that she was going to try and get another piece of pie, so I put the pie plate in the fridge on the highest shelf. I went into the laundry room to do a little bit of laundry but Gracie thought I went to the shower. Jacob who was in the room said she said "Yes, mom's in the shower" and went over to the sink and took out her plate and started to lick it. Jacob died laughing and I came out and took these pictures. She has a big sweet tooth and is a little sneaky.
In 4 days you both are 20 years old! I can hardly believe it! We will miss you a little more than normal on your birthday but are grateful you get to be where you are serving the Lord and the people of Chile and Austria. I can't imagine what my life would have been without the two of you coming into it. I have truly loved every minute of being your mom and being a part of your lives. I am so blessed by your spirits and your desire to do good. I look forward to the next 20 years and many more! So in honor of your birthday today here are some fun pictures of the past.....
