Fall Break!
Hello to our favorite missionaries in the whole wide world!
Hope this post finds you each doing well and enjoying missionary work.
This past week was fall break so lots of pictures this week. First before Fall Break was the "Mapleton Super Bowl". The Mapleton Broncos were undefeated and considered the favoring team. It was a close game and with only 1 minute left the Broncos were leading 8-6. Unfortunately the Longhorns made a touch down in a short time and the Broncos lost the game. It was a hard lose especially since they had beat that same team 3 other times. But the smiles came out when they realized two moms brought lots of donuts (4 doz). Here is the team after the game.
The first day of Fall Break we enjoyed a day at Frighmares at Lagoon. It's pretty much Lagoon during the day with a few witches walking around and then at night there are a few haunted houses that open and you can go to those. They are ranked in 5 levels from "not scary at all, up to defiantly too scary for kids".
They also had a few places that you could trick or treat for younger kids. Gracie loved it!
And she loved all the kiddie rides! Rode each several times.
She was even tall enough this year to ride some bigger rides.
The merry-go-round was fun. We thought Gracie would want the pig but instead she insisted on this small stationary bear. Jacob of coarse had to ride a chicken.
It was warm during the day and chilly at night.
Dad and I split up and took the older kids through some haunted houses. Dad picked the scariest and was probably too scary for Jacob. And I picked a medium and had fun with it, which just embarrassed Jacob and Lydia.
A few selfies!
The next day we started the drive to Las Vegas. It was a five hour drive so we stopped in St. George for some Red Rock fun.
We found a slot canyon at Snow Canyon State park.
Jacob likes to climb Red Rock. Gracie is another mom to Jacob, it's kind of funny cause she is always trying to tell him what to do. Here she is holding on to him telling him it's too scary.
Red Rock overlooking St. Geroge! Can you see the temple?
On Saturday was the Tough Mudder!
I took Dad over to meet with Dan and Bill. For spectators to watch it cost $20 a person and we didn't know how much we would be able to see him, so we opted out and went swimming at the hotel. Grandma took Tommy and they only saw the start and finish, so it we ok that we missed. Dad had a good time doing this with Dan and Bill. It was a positive experience and he enjoyed the coarse.
There were 10 obstacles that they went through and a total of 5 miles of running/walking.
Before the race....
After at the finish!
This was the last obstacle. At one point Dad was at the bottom holding people up, Here he is climbing up the slippery slope.
We made it home late Saturday night, and enjoyed Sunday at home.
Looking forward to hearing from you both!
LOVE YOU!
