Yay for FALL!
Hi Mason and Landon!
We celebrated Chilean Independence Day last Tuesday! I made Empanadas and Tres Leche cake. We invited Brett and Kaitlyn over to enjoy some of this chilean food.
Below is everyone about to eat the Tres Leche cake. It was yummy!
Jacob loved the empanadas. He couldn't help himself and ate 4! They were all meat empanadas but I didn't make the ones it raisins and eggs. I have to say they were pretty good!
Kailtyn brought her hot drink, the one that taste like grass. Do you drink that ever Landon? She said on their mission she couldn't drink it because it's a drink you pass and you can get sick. But she was around it a lot.
Jacob had another flag football game and they won! It was close and the other team plays a few tricks trying to win but we came out on top. It took dad about an hour after the game for his blood pressure to lower, it can get intense.
The other picture is of the continued fires in the mountains from the park. One week later and it's still burning. Earlier last week it jumped highway 6 (Spanish Fork canyon) and burned the back of Maple Mountain and behind Whiting canyon and towards Hobble Creek. I don't think it will get to Hobble Creek they are doing a lot to protect it and it's slowly getting more and more contained. We are just grateful we get some breaks from the smoke. The mornings are very smokey and then the afternoons and evenings clear out.
Maple Mountain Homecoming Assembly was fun and a bit crazy. Lydia and Alex did awesome! She sounded so great. It was fun to watch her perform in front of the entire school. I sent you a link to the video from my google drive. Let me know if you can't view it there.
One fun thing was they spotlighted the past Student Body Presidents. Briggs was there. He mentioned being on medical leave from his mission.
Jacob went with the 11 year old scouts on a hike to Stewart Falls on Saturday. Dad also joined them. It was a fun outing for him and dad.
Lydia had a cross country meet at Salem Hills on Friday. She did well. You can see some of the mountain burning in the back ground.
Lydia didn't PR but she did well and enjoyed the meet. The next race is in 2 weeks at Regions. Can't believe the season is almost over.
September has been a little rough around here with the fires, but Saturday night was beautiful so Dad, Gracie, Jacob and myself went out on a bike ride. It was a pretty evening. Yay for FALL!
And finally, lots of apples grew this year. Gracie loves to eat them.
Hope all is well. We love and miss you! You are very important to us!
