Beauty All Around!

 Hello Elders! 

We hope this last week you have been well.  We anxiously await hearing from you on Tuesday each week.  Here is a bit of what we were up to at home......

Lydia got her permit!   Yay!!!  She even passed it the first time!  She was feeling pretty good about that after hearing how many people do not pass it the first time.  And she only missed 5!   I, Jacob and Gracie was glad she passed too so we didn't have to visit this place again for awhile. 

We spent the week getting things ready for her and school. Wisdom teeth, sports physical and permit test.  But she did mange to sneak away for a temple trip with a friend.  While she went to the temple I took Jacob and Gracie fishing.  No luck catching anything though.  Gracie really wanted to walk outside of Jesus's house when we came back to get Lydia.  It was cute, she really loves to see the temple.  Jacob took her around and I went to get the girls.  When I came around the corner it was cute, as they were sitting on a wall together just looking at the temple together.

Since we only have a few weeks left of summer we made a list of things we want to still do.  A hike was at the top of my list.  Not too many others had a hike on the top of their list but I think they all enjoyed an evening hike up to "Cecret Lake" by Alta ski resort.  Lots of wild flowers, and greenery. 

 We even saw a Moose!  Gracie said she had seen a Moose before at a baseball game.  (referring to the Mariners Moose) we thought that was pretty good for her to remember that it was a Moose. 
Dad was the bravest of all of us and got the closest to get this picture. 

 Friday evening we rented this two man raft from BYU to use on Saturday to float the Provo river.  We thought we would first try it out at the Salam Pond.  Unfortunately we  didn't really know how to work the valves and weren't able to fill it up with air enough.  Dad and Jacob looked like they were in a sinking raft on the pond.  It was kind of comical. 

Then the rain came in and sinking raft got very wet.  Jacob thought it was a blast in the rain.  Dad not so much.  Salam Pond is kind of yucky.  

Saturday we floated the Provo river.  It was an adventure and we had a great time.  Jacob wonders why we have never done it before.  Might be a new family summer activity! 

 Gracie loved it too, well most of the time.  She got a little nervous when there was bigger waves. 

We love and miss you lots!
