Back To School!

Hi Landon and Mason!

This week Lydia and Jacob went back to school!

Lydia's first week in high school went well.  She likes her classes, especially choir and seminary. She is excited to be at MMHS this year!

Jacob enjoyed his first week of 6th grade!  He likes his teacher and thinks she is funny.  He also started flag football practice this week, with coach DAD!

Gracie, was a little confused the first day!  She really wanted to go to school too.  Unfortunately, her preschool doesn't start till September 11th.  The day before she spotted this pack back at Walmart (it has Elsa from Frozen on it).  She wanted it so bad and since she doesn't have a back pack I got it for her.   She is so excited to go to preschool and wore it the whole first day the kids were at school.
(Sorry for all the messy hair pictures this week, she does get her hair combed daily).  We got back at scripture study before school this week.  Gracie loves to get the scripture books out and hand them out to everyone.  She follows along (on the wrong page) and will read a line or two with help from mom and dad.

On the first day of school Dad read the first verse and this is what it said:

"And now, Jacob I speak unto you; Thou art my first born in the days of my tribulation in the wilderness.  And Behold in they childhood thou hast suffered afflictions and much sorrow because of the rudeness of they brethren"

We had a good little chuckle, just cause it sounded like Dad talking to Jacob.  And definitely not because of the rudeness of his brethren, cause that's not true:)

Dad and I went to the temple Friday night!  It was a beautiful evening and temple and grounds looked amazing in the setting sunset.

After we tried this little hole in the wall restaurant in Payson.  This is what we ordered:  Pineapple Fajita's!  Wow, never knew Payson had something so yummy!

And since we are food, we are drowning in peaches still!   Pretty excited about some "giant" peaches.

Lydia did something kind of scary this past weekend.  She auditioned for Wizard of Oz at the new Hale Theater in Sandy.   Her director of Cinderella who is involved there encouraged her and so she thought she would go for it.  We figured for the audition experience it would be worth a try.  They were only casting one person under 18 and that was for the part of Dorothy (as an understudy to the the "Lexi Walker" who had already been casted as the main Dorothy)

Lydia did as well as she thought she could but unfortunately did not get called back.   The three that did get called back are already pretty well known as You Tube stars and such.

But way to go Lydia in trying something challenging.
We talked a lot about how experiencing rejection and disappointment is good.  When we don't we get afraid of challenges cause we are unaccustomed to those feelings and so we fear disappointment.
The more we try the stronger we become!

Hope your week was good, excited to hear about transfers!
Love you lots!
