Gone Fishin!
Hello to our favorite missionaries!
Here we are at another week passed. Landon has been out 56 weeks and Mason 55! I remember posting last year about the temple to temple run and here I am again... next year you guys are running it with us!
First I want to tell you what a blessing it has to write you every week. Organizing pictures has always been something that I have wanted to do better at. For this past year, I have organized pictures from just writing you each week. I also have each of your blogs and it will be fun to print them when your mission is over and look back over the two years of pictures and letters.
Speaking of that, Sister Kelly Bennett is the primary music leader. She asked me this past week for a letter for each of you to share in primary. I sent her one from both of you (Landon the one after Patricia was baptized and Mason the one about hope and teaching Fredrika). She shared excerpts from your letters and also showed some pictures.
On Tuesday was the official pioneer day. Dad doesn't get the day off and since we already celebrated the Mapleton pioneer days he didn't see a need to take it off. Lydia, Jacob and myself did the temple to temple run. It starts early on the 24th so we set out to Provo and waited with the crowd for the race to start.
This race is mainly dodging people but we had a great time. Jacob did great for his first 5K. He had to stop only two times but kept pushing. Lydia ran the whole way and is feeling more comfortable with running. She is also excited for cross country this next year.
With Dad at work, I asked Lydia and Jacob what they wanted to do. I made the suggestion of going fishing and Lydia loved that idea, Jacob not so much. So we talked him in to it and I decided to keep it positive and since Dad wasn't with us to help (and I'm not very confident with how a pole works) we would try a Trout Farm. We found a trout farm in Payson. It was a beautiful setting and we were pretty guaranteed we would catch something (especially since we saw the owner dump 3 net full of fish into the pond). Gracie and Jacob did most of the fishing and they each caught a fish.
Yay, fishing is fun!
Then the owners cut and cleaned them and guess what we had for dinner? We felt like we had truly experienced pioneer day buy catching dinner. And now Jacob likes fishing so the afternoon was a success.
The day after the 24th Lydia went to Girls Camp! It was Wednesday-Saturday. She had a good week! It was a stake camp but the wards camp together. Our ward had over 40 girls there. Below is a picture of most of them (Lydia is on the far right)
Dad, I and the Poulsons went to camp Friday night for Bishop's night. It was fun to be with the YW and also see Lydia.
On Monday (today) Lydia got her wisdom teeth out. We weren't expecting much reaction from her since both of you were so mellow after you had yours out. But we were wrong, she was pretty dramatic. She woke up thinking she had not tongue anymore. She also kept talking about how it was so rainy (but it wasn't). All while she was constantly crying and saying funning things. Jacob said later that it scared him to see her act so weird. I'll try and send you a funny video of her.
Love you both so much!
