Talented Hands!

Happy June Landon and Mason!

It's hard to believe that June is already here.  Last June we were in full swing getting you ready to go on your mission.  And I know you don't want to think about it but next June you will come home!

Our first week of summer break went well.  It was kind of low key but we did have some neat things that happened.  First I thought you would enjoy this picture!!!  Do you recognize our new friend???

Yep  shook those very talented hands TWICE!!!
Just so you guys understand, it was the two of you that gave us the motivation to ask him for a picture.    We told him we have two sons on missions and they are big fans and that piano is very important to them.  He was very kind and thanked us for sharing and coming up to say hi!

Now you might wonder where we were at.  Derrick Bird's company has season tickets to the REAL soccer games.  The Birds get to use the tickets every once in awhile.  They are awesome tickets cause they feed you a really nice dinner before the game in a reception room, you get to visit with the general manager, then they supply you snacks to take out to your awesome seats and during half time and after the game they have even more food, and occasionally you spot famous people there.  Jon Schmidt is a big soccer fan I guess.  Nice guy!

This was my first attempt to get a picture of him for you.  Just using Brother Bird and Brother Poulson as a reason to take a picture with out him noticing.....hehehe, then we got brave.

Other pictures from the night.

Dad being teased by Leo the Lion!
Jacob went to Shadow Mountain for three days!  He had a great time, played hard, made new friends, ate yummy food and went on a big hike.  But it was weird to not have any of our sons sleeping at home for a couple of nights.

We have six new babies in the neighborhood!  Baby Raccoons!    Dad and I ran into these critters last week on 800 south going east.  Then I ran into them again on my run  one morning.  I alerted the neighbors who had not seen them yet and hopefully they are caught soon.  Cause in 2 weeks they won't be so cute.  And I don't want them near our chickens!

Jacob Scott got married by DAD!  On Saturday dad performed Jacob's and Christine's wedding ceremony.   Dad did the good job and the newlywed's seem to be happy.  They are going to be living in the Scotts basement for a little while.

The night before the wedding Dad went to the Stake Aaronic Priesthood Encampment.   It was a busy church weekend for dad.  So on Sunday he caught a good Sunday nap!

I found a good deal for princess dresses on a garage sale site for Gracie!  It was like Christmas for her after I got home with them and washed them.  Here are two of her favorites.  Elsa and Ana from Frozen!   Princess outfits are now all she wants to wear.

Gracie's new thing is watering the flowers out front with her new watering pitcher.
Also new with her:
-Favorite word is NO!
-She loves to snuggle
-She only wants mom to put her to bed
-The nursery leaders tell us she is the smartest one in nursery by a lot!
-But as smart as she is, we are still potty training her.  (going on 6 months of this:(
-She still loves pigs! And her favorite book now is The Three Little Pigs
-She is bossy and loud a lot of the time
-She is adorable and keeps us laughing every day.

A few pictures from our Sunday walk to the park.  Summer is officially here!  90 degree weather is the norm!

We finished Sunday with Strawberry/Rhubarb Pie.   Not sure if you remember the rhubarb plant I dug up from Grandpa Nielsen's house.  Well this year it is really big, so we have lots.   Rhubarb reminds me of my Grandparents and it's fun to have their plant at my house now.  I love thinking about my Grandpa when I garden and especially eating Rhubarb.

LOVE YOU BOTH! 💗
