Line Upon Line!
Hello my dear Elders!
Last week was kind of a quiet week. But then the weekend was busy.
This week I have a bunch of pictures for you!
Gracie loves the park. This is a park that we go to in Orem during Lydia's voice lessons. On this particular day Lydia was working with her voice teacher on "Be Still My Soul", her audition piece that she will sing for Mr. Rymer on Monday afternoon for MMHS choir auditions.
Gracie could play at the park for hours. She always gets excited when other kids are there. She says, "Yea, friends for me!"
Jacob went to the State Capital with the 5th grade.
They all dressed up. He had thought it was ok, but kind of boring.
He is on the right in the blue shirt towards the middle.
On Saturday, Jacob had a birthday party. (his birthday is Wednesday this week). Last year after his crazy "chicken party" I told him it would be a good idea to have one or two friends come and do something with rather than a big party. He was so stressed about who those two would be and that others would feel bad, so he convinced us to have another party.. All 10 boys he invited came to the party. We had lunch, cake and presents at our house and then we took them swimming at Provo Rec.
Gracie had a blast swimming with dad in the kid area.
Soon after the party we went to Heber to ride the "Heber Bunny Train" (same train we rode a few years ago when it was the "Wild West Train") It was pretty hockie but Gracie LOVE it! So I guess it was worth it.
Lydia and Jacob made their own kind of fun!
Here is a funny tidbit: The Easter Bunny gave all the kids an egg. Gracie was so excited. When she opened it, all that was in it was a sticker and a trinket toy. Then she was mad, cause she really wanted candy. And as the Easter Bunny walked through the train, she would cry to it and say "I want candy" Her sweet tooth is strong!
Another funny tidbit that I have been meaning to tell you.
When Grandma and Grandpa left. I told Grace they were going on a mission. She said "to see Landon and Mason?" I had to explain to her where you guys were again and that Grandpa and Grandma were on a temple mission. She then said "yes, Landon and Mason go in an airplane up in the sky" and Grandma and Grandpa go to the temple. For a two year old she is learning a lot about missions! She talks about you lots!
On Sunday I played the flute for the choir. The song was "He Sent His Son". I made a goal to play the song through 10x's a day all last week, in hopes that on Sunday when the one time I would play it would be ok. It wasn't 100 percent perfect but it was pretty good, and I felt good about it. This experience reminded me that all the effort we make daily in our lives to better ourselves makes a BIG difference in the end. At the beginning and while I was learning the song, I will admit it wasn't my favorite thing and I was a little annoyed about it. But in the end I was so grateful for the opprotunity and I hope to pull my flute out more often so I am better prepared the next time I am asked.
Working through hard things makes us stronger!
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
