Such a gentle man!

Landon and Mason!

It's with much sadness that I inform you of Brother Curtis's passing this past Sunday.  If you remember from a few weeks ago when I wrote and told you he had some unexpected health challenges come up.  Since that time he has been in intensive care in Seattle.  Tara texted me Sunday evening informing me that he had passed away that afternoon.  I am sad for his family as I know they will miss him dearly and especially since one of his daughters Nicole just announced he would be a Grandpa soon.

As I have reflected on his influence in your lives (and ours) I am overcome with love and gratitude for him.  He was such a kind and gentle man and truly one that followed the example of the Savior.  I feel so bless that he was your leader and I know it's because of his love, his service and example that your lives were blessed especially when you were 12!
You were important to him too!  I was so touched when he wanted to send you the oil vials he made for you recently.  (Landon yours is coming soon in the package) He not only loved you when you were his deacons but also now several years later.  He was an amazing man!
If you would like to write something for his family, maybe a memory or such.  I can send it too them for your.  If you don't have time today, next week is fine too.   I don't know when the funeral will be but I imagine it will be later this week.
Sorry for the sad news.  Such sweet memories when you look back!

As for what is new at home......

1. It snowed pretty much all last week!  Making up for not snowing this whole season I guess.

Grace loved it and wanted to play in it often! Brrrrr...

Jacob got tired of shoveling.....(you can understand)

But since we were pretty much home all week trying to stay out of the cold.....
GRACE got POTTY Trained!!!!!!
No more diapers in the HOUSE!!

She didn't normally have the Ipad when she went potty but this time she did.
She is the first Evans' kid to get potty trained while she is 2!!!!
Way to go Gracie!

Thanks for sending the pictures for Grandma's gift.   Here is the finished product (it will be printed on Canvas).  She's going to love it!

Shhh......but my favorite part of it is the 3 missionaries in a row!!!

Grandma and Grandpa drive down on Thursday.  They will be in Utah till the following Wednesday.  We are excited they are coming and we are also excited for the upcoming plays!  Lots of pictures of Little Mermaid next week!  And the good news.... she doesn't have to kiss Prince Eric in the show.

Sorry, I feel like most pictures are always of Gracie.  Dad and I need to take more pictures of ourselves I guess, but we don't change too much beside getting older;)

But here is one last picture of Gracie with a little story......
I needed to get some thank you gift certificates for Jacob's basketball coaches.  I decided Orange Peel would be a good place to get them and plus I could go through the drive through.  Right when we pulled into the parking lot Gracie started shouting "Landon's smoothie, Landon's smoothie!"  She has not been there since the last time Landon worked there but she hadn't forgotten.  I wasn't planning on getting her a smoothie (just the certificates) but I couldn't resist getting her a "Landon's smoothie"  Which made her so happy!

And Mason she still thinks your mission is the Springville City Offices!  Never fails.... when we drive by she says loudly "there's Mason's mission".  Funny girl!  She loves her missionary brothers!

Here are a few other tidbits from home!
-The van got rear ended AGAIN!!!  Utah Drivers!  No worries everyone was fine, it wasn't too hard of a hit.  Van goes back in for a new bumper again!  (that's 2 rear ends since you have been gone)
-Dad and I took your cousin Sadie out for breakfast one morning.  She's a sweet girl and wants to go on a mission and is working tirelessly towards that.  She hopes to go after her birthday in November.
-Jacob competed in a chess tournament.  He was a little rusty, but did alright (didn't place) but had fun.
-Jacob also finished his last basketball games of the season. This week he had 3 games.  Won 2 Lost 1
-We continue to think and pray for you both always!  We LOVE you very much!
