Beautiful
Hello Landon and Mason!!!
This week for the blog I am going to just give you a few little tid-bits of what is happening at home. I want these post to be positive for you both to read and not to make you feel sad. Sometimes I think you probably see more pictures of things that go on in our lives then you ever did before you left. (example: you might never of would have seen pictures of little outings unless I would have shown you them). Hopefully it just makes up for not seeing us daily. It's been a great experience writing you and even a better experience hearing from you. Even though I miss your hugs, and hearing your voice I love this experience of sharing through letters, our thoughts, our happenings and our love.
So here are some tid-bits......
1. Thanksgiving is this week, but no snow yet. Just in the mountains. We've had some pretty fall days this past few weeks. Here is a picture of the current view. Not as big as the Andy's mountains..... or the Alps... but still pretty.
2. When I told Gracie I was taking a picture for you guys, she wanted to be in it too.
It was sunny enough for sunglasses.
3. Gracie was so excited to be so beautiful on Sunday. I pulled this dress out that she has never worn and she was so excited. All she could say was "I'm so beautiful" Jacob was in the shower and she waited at the door until he got out the shower to show him her beautiful dress. She was beautiful, she just doesn't know how to model the dress....... (right photo)
4. We got a new entry table (cabinet). Can you see it in the back ground. It's beautiful too and make our entry look better!
5. Jacob has been playing Christmas Music since October. Gracie likes to go in and sing along, only problem is she doesn't know the words, so she just make them up and it's usually just the word "Christmas" over and over.
6. We are on the hunt for a new piano teacher as Jacob's teacher has decided to retire after Christmas. Ugh, seems like I can not have a piano teacher in Utah for more than 1.5 years.
7. Jacob was Steve Job's at his school's wax museum this past week. He had fun and pulled off a perfect younger Steve Jobs. (he didn't want to buzz his hair off to be the older version). He had fun saying his 1 minute little description of Steve Jobs over and over that evening.
8. Gracie's new thing to say is "stop it" and be goofy with Jacob
And a few things that we don't have pictures of.....
9. We got Solar Panels this last week. Dad has wanted them for along time. I will take a picture for next week (cause as I write this it's dark). Once they are turned on which will be in a few weeks our power bill will be only a few dollars...hopefully.
10. Roundtable..... I don't know if you remember or not my calling as one of the Stake Cub-Scout Commissioners. Well once a months we have a training meeting called Roundtable. Most months it's a district Roundtable, except every 4th month it's a Stake Roundtable. All ward cub leaders are suppose to attend. Generally attendance at Roundtable is really challenging, and it can be very discouraging. This last week we had a stake roundtable meeting (which is the most important of all Roundtables to attend) and only 4 people come out of all the leaders in the Stake (9 wards!!!). It's discouraging and frustrating that people don't take things as serious sometimes, and it can make me feel like I don't care either about the training, but the reality is that it does matter and even though only a few came, who knows the benefit it was to those people. I thought about you guys and how there are so many ups and downs in missionary work. But what is important is that we give our best efforts, know that people have their own agency, and that we are capable of blessings others but just small attendances. I grateful for your example of this reminder to me!
Love you!
