She wants to be a runner!
Hello Elders!!! We hope this email find you both well. We are doing good here at home. Here is a few things that are going on.......
1. Long runs for mom. The weather has been the best running weather and Sister Wing is training for a marathon, so I have been joining her for "part" of her long runs on Saturday. She is fast so it's be great for me to go with her. We start up in Hobble Creek and run home. It's about 8 miles.
Gracie thinks she wants to go running with me.
2. Lydia got her Patriarchal Blessing. It was a special experience to be there with her and the Raventos and her Lydia's blessing. It was a beautiful blessing. I'll let her tell you more about it.
3. Youth Fireside: We had the Schellenburg twins there for the fireside. It was fun to hear about their missions. Same message, completely different missions. Probably similar to you two! But one thing is similar they both ate cat and dog. Hopefully neither of you have to eat that...yuck!!
3. Women's Conference: Lydia and I met Melissa in SLC for Women's Conference. It was also Comic Con that weekend so SLC was full of people dressed up and women. It was funny!! Sure loved the messages that were shared that night. One that stood out to me was by Sister Joy Jones (Primary President). She spoke about how our "Worth" is beyond value. She shared examples of three individual women who found a great change, happiness and peace in their life from following the gospel. She also emphasized that "worth and worthiness" are not the same. Worthiness is when we are not obedient but it doesn't mean we are worth less. Everyone is of worth but living the gospel brings us happiness. I am sure you have seen that while serving a mission.
Here is a quote from her talk....
"If the love we feel for the Savior and what He did for us is greater than the energy we give to weaknesses, self-doubts, or bad habits, then He will help us overcome the things which cause suffering in our lives, he saves us from ourselves."
4. Raspberries for days! Just one days picking from our berry patch. We have froze lots, made jam, ate them in salads and cereals and made several desserts. Gotta love raspberries around here cause we eat them a lot this time of year.
5. Getting Political.... The race for the Mayor in Mapleton is hot topic. Thought we would show our support for a new Mayor! First time ever having a political sign in the yard.
6. Snow in the mountains! It might not seem too big a deal to you guys in the Andies and Alps, but it was only a week ago it was 90 degrees and HOT. This last weekend it dropped and snowed in mountains. It was rainy and cold on Sunday that the White Church didn't have heat yet so the church was freezing so they cancelled the 2nd and 3rd hour. We had such a busy Sunday with Lydia's blessing and the fireside that it was so nice. Plus it was the primary program and Grandma and Thomas came to see Jacob. So we had more time to come home and have dinner with them. It's suppose to get back up to the 70's this week. But for now the mountains look pretty.
7. Youth Hike to Squaw Peak: This is most of the group at the top. It was pretty cloudy unfortunately so there was no view. But those that went had fun. It was just Dad that went from our family. Lydia was bummed to miss but she had call backs for "Christmas Carol". We will let you know next week how that went. She did well but it's pretty competitive, and some what political. So I don't know. It would be fun and awesome cause she would actually get paid to be in it.
8. There you have it for this last week but mostly around here it's normal days. Like this.........
We look forward to conference this weekend! Do you guys get to watch it at the church or somewhere? Have a good week!
WE LOVE YOU!!!
